The Department of Education (DepEd) is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the successful staging of the 6th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Schools Games.
For the first time, the country will be hosting the Asean meet on November 29 to
December 7 in Marikina City with delegates from neighboring countries expected to attend the annual event.
The Philippines aims to surpass its three-bronze medal haul in the 2013 edition held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Defending champion Vietnam and perennial title contenders Malaysia and
Thailand have already confirmed their participation as well as Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam and Laos.
Vietnam pocketed 50 golds in the fifth Asean Schools Games while Malaysia grabbed 25 and Thailand earned 24.
The Philippines will be parading a strong contingent this time bannered by some Palarong Pambansa medallists.
