DepEd opens applications for youth exchange program in Japan


The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced the opening of applications for JENESYS 2.0 or Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths in partnership with Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE).

The student exchange program is offered to all qualified Filipino students currently enrolled in public schools aged 15 to 18 years old. Interested applicants must have excellent moral character without any record of unfavorable disciplinary case in school.

Student applicants must have a strong interest in the Japanese culture and preferably can understand Japanese language.

The exchange program offered by the DepEd and JICE requires student’s copies of duly accomplished application form inclusive of the following documents in sequential order: entry form of the JENESYS 2.0 with passport-sized pictures with white background attached to each form; recommendation letter issued and signed by the school principal or school administrator; recommendation letter from a person who is not a relative of the applicant who knows his or her personal history; essays from the given set of essay questions; and Form 137.
