THE Department of Education (DepEd) has postponed this year’s National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, December 7 and 8, due to administrative and logistical limitations.
The education department said the postponement is “indefinite” and will inform NCAE takers on the new schedule of the examination.
The NCAE examination has been postponed twice. It was first scheduled on August 30 and 31 and was rescheduled to December 7 and 8.
The NCAE is an assessment of students’ aptitudes and skills, and estimates what field or discipline the student can excel in. The test results will provide a guide on the interest and career inclination of the student, whether it is technical-vocational, entrepreneurial, or a full college education course.
The NCAE, which determines the interests and career inclination of students, will be administered to Grade 9 students enrolled in public and private schools.
It is also open to other interested out-of-school youth, ALS [Alternative Learning System], and A & E [Accreditation and Equivalency] passers. NEIL A. ALCOBER
