TO finally address the shortage of learning materials in the public elementary and secondary schools nationwide, the Department of Education (DepEd) has procured learning materials worth P3 million, DepEd Assistant Secretary for planning Jesus Mateo said on Monday.
The DepEd, according to him, has already addressed the problem of textbook shortage since last year with an expected 1:1 student-textbook ratio.
“There is no more shortage in textbooks and other learning materials. We have procured learning materials for this school year worth P3 million,” Mateo said.
“We continue to provide more textbooks as we implement the new [K-to-12] curriculum,” the DepEd official added.
