The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) consular services and the United States Embassy in Manila closed their offices on Monday in anticipation of Typhoon Ruby in Metro Manila. In an advisory, the department said it has shut down its passport and consular operations at the main office in Aseana, Macapagal Boulevard, as well as the mall-based satellite offices but will resume its operations today. Passport applicants who have a scheduled appointment at DFA-Aseana on December 8 and in mall-based satellite offices from December 9 to 13 will be accommodated from December 9 to 12 at DFA-Aseana upon presentation of proof of their appointment. Also, the US Embassy in Manila advised the Non-immigrant Visa (NIV) applicants scheduled for December 8 to have their appointments rescheduled. All those who were scheduled for an Immigrant Visa (IV) on Monday have been rescheduled for Friday, December 12.
