CONSULAR services of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will be suspended on Wednesday in observance of Eid’l Fitr, an important day among Muslims that marks the end of the holy Islamic month of Ramadan.
Eid’l Fitr is a national holiday in the Philippines by virtue of Republic Act 9177.
“In compliance with Proclamation No. 6 issued by the President of the Republic of the Philippines, the transacting public is informed that consular services at the Office of Consular Affairs in Aseana, mall-based OCA satellite offices in Metro Manila, including DFA Regional Consular Offices will be temporarily suspended on Wednesday,” the DFA said in a statement.
Clients with consular transactions and confirmed appointments for passport and other consular services for the day will be accommodated from July 7 to 15 at designated offices of the DFA upon presentation of confirmed proof of respective appointments.
The United States Embassy in Manila said it will be closed to the public on Wednesday.
The embassy and its affiliated offices will resume services on Thursday.
