Diamond MotoX held in Taytay

E4---DiamondMoto20151027Premier Mitsubishi dealership Diamond Motor Corporation teamed up with veteran motocross event organizer Xtreme Adrenaline Sports to stage the first ever Diamond Motocross Championship at the MX Messiah Fairgrounds, Club Manila East in Taytay, Rizal.

Diamond Motor’s head of marketing and planning, Jon Blaylock, said the holding of the motocross event is their company’s way of showing support for their sport utility vehicle (SUV) customers who are into motocross riding as well as to support organizations that try to make a difference to society.

“The extreme subculture, particularly the motocross segment, ties in perfectly with our newly-released Strada, as well as other [Mitsubishi] SUVs like the Pajero and Montero,” he said.

“MX Messiah Fairgrounds and its founder, Pastor Sam Tamayo, are in this for much more than just motocross. And that’s why we want to build something with them,” Blaylock added.

After the race, multi-titled rider Glenn Aguilar claimed the Pro Open category against rising moto star Ralph Ramento. Aguilar dominated both Moto 1 and Moto 2 of the banner category. The presence of local rider Bebet dela Cruz brought a twist of fate as he finished second overall to Aguilar while Ramento finished on the third podium position.

Brothers JC and Enzo Rellosa kept the crowd on their feet as JC grabbed fourth while Enzo ended sixth in the overall run.

“I want to have fun and enjoy the race. It took me almost nine months before I got back to motocross but it’s good to be back,” said Bicol-based Enzo before the start of the race.

In addition to the motocross race, the Autotune Extreme Editions car show and competition was staged as the second installment to the Diamond Autotune series, with the Montero Club of the Philippines taking the largest number of slots in the competition.

Other activities during the event included a pit party, Mitsubishi SUV car show, Mitsubishi Strada test drive, live band concert, raffles and promos.

The event also featured international band “Dare to be Dreamers” along with local acts Maryzark, Talata, Taken by Cars, Fuseboxx, Start First Finish Last and Firefalldown.

Providing support to the event were Dunlop Tires, Coffee Grounds, Xtreme Adrenaline Sports Entertainment Co, PTT Philippines Corporation, Monster Energy and the Municipality of Taytay.
