Diarrhea downs 91 police trainees


A TOTAL of around ninety-one police trainees were reportedly hospitalized on Friday due to Diarrhea while in the middle of their training in a sub-urban village in Surigao City, a belated police reports said on Tuesday. Caraga Regional Police Office Information Officer, Supt. Daniel Puesca reported that 50 members of the Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP) were brought to the Caraga Regional Hospital at around 6 p.m. Friday. The trainees complained of stomach ache and loose bowel movement. Following this, 41 other police trainees were brought to the same hospital also complaining of stomach ache. Puesca added that 27 of the trainees were confined and placed under observation while 64 others were released and sent back to the training center to rest. As of Tuesday the Surigao City Health Office and Department of Health in Surigao Del Norte were still conducting surveillance case investigation to determine the cause of diarrhea that downed the police trainees. Water sampling was also conducted by Caraga Regional Hospital.
