Mass housing developer 8990 Holdings Inc. in its commitment to support Philippine athletes has rewarded weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz with a house and lot package for winning a silver medal in the recent Rio Olympics.

Diaz received a one-storey unit on a 53 square meter lot at Deca Homes in Clark. The unit has an estimated value of P450,000.

The granting of the reward was part of a memorandum of agreement that was recently signed by 8990 President and Chief Executive Officer Januario Jesus Atencio and Philippine Sports Commission Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez.

Under the agreement, 8990 will award house and lot packages to medalists in the Rio Olympics and cash rewards of P10,000 to each Filipino delegates in the quadrennial sporting event.

“We believe that sports develop discipline, we just don’t build houses for families but we also aim to make their lives better,” Atencio said in a statement.

    1. With the free publicity that 8990 is getting with its name hinged on the Olympian’s victory, di naman siguro masama na mas malaki man lang sana ang area ng lupa na binibigay na kun saan di ito bababa sa 120sqm. Para naman pampalubag loob lang at masabi lang na tinupad nila ang kanilang pangako dahil magbibigay na rin lang ay hindi pa sa Mindanao kun saan taga roon si Ms. Diaz. By giving a property in Clark is like saying bibigyan kita ng malaking hacienda at ito ay nasa Siberia o sa Alaska.
