FORMER Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Magdara Dimaampao passed away on Thursday after a lingering illness. He was 80.
His remains was immediately brought to the Mosque in Quiapo, Manila for cleansing before it was flown to Lanao Del Sur for his burial within 24 hours.
Dimaampao also served as the country’s Ambassador to Iraq, and as Deputy Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran.
He also sat as a judge in Marawi in Lanao Del Sur.
Dimaampao is the father of incumbent Court of Appeals Associate Justice Japar Dimaampao.
