Dimakiling finishes second in Johor Causeway Open Rapid Chess

International Master (IM) Oliver Dimakiling bagged the country’s second straight silver-medal finish in Malaysia, this time in the 2nd Johor Causeway Open Rapid Chess Tournament held at the Johor Bahru City Square Office Tower. Dimakiling earned 5.5 points on five wins and a draw. Duc Hoa pocketed the crown with six points on five wins and two draws while Laxman settled for third with five points on four wins and a couple of draws. Last week, Grandmaster (GM) Richard Bitoon placed second in the 2nd Johor International Chess Open held at the same venue.   EMIL C. NOGUERA
