16 million should not make the balance of 84 insignificant.

Sandy Daza’s “Foodprints” on Lifestyle Channel is one show that is always fun to watch. Armed with usual culinary expertise flavored with his casual manner of inquisitive kitchen instincts, he takes you to different parts of the country to discover or re-discover nuggets of truths about Filipino dishes that we can be proud of. From originals to innovative interpretations, one’s gastronomic impulse to try what the menu has to offer is a real treat every time. His narratives are usually sprinkled with down-to-earth humor and respect for the owners of the eateries he visits in every episode. This is one show that will make you go hungry for more. Keep up the good work, Chef Sandy.

Today we are commemorating the 15th anniversary of 9-11. The heart of America was hit by the terrorists and eventually changed our way of life and the way we look at the vulnerability of every city in the world. On that fateful day of awakening, 2,996 lives were lost. Let us pray for these heroes who showed us the way to be strong and unified against a common enemy.

Obama, who arrived in Hangzhou for the Group of 20 summit, used Air Force One’s built-in hatch steps rather than the usual rolling staircase. No, I don’t think the US government will retaliate by requiring China’s President Xi Jinping jump out of his plane to make a parachute landing on The White House next time he visits Washington. Of course, a 21-gun salute will be prohibited while he is descending.

During his speeches, former President PNoy coughed profusely due to his smoking habit. US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton recently had a similarcoughing fit in Cleveland. Actually, she coughed for a different reason: she was lambasted by Donald Trump for having 13 cellphones in just four years.

Something really to cough about. Especially as it was pointed out by someone she’s allergic to.

The Secretary of the Department of Tourism is in a bind. President Digong expressed his dislike of the idea of Steve Harvey hosting the Miss Universe beauty pageant here in the country next year. If there’s nothing that we can do about it now, I recommend putting up 12 giant screens around the venue to project the contents of the envelope that he is about to read, just to be safe. And play in his earphones a recorded legendary expletive of DU30 saying”P#$@%Ina@*&^Ka, huwag kang magkakamali.”

“North Korea nuclear missile test a provocation,” world leaders said. The problem is his ears can only hear the applause of his countrymen begging him to do more.

In fairness, PCO’s chief Martin Andanar is ten thousand times better than his predecessors. He accepts with grace and humility his group’s lapses and always expresses his willingness to learn. Not like the trio that he replaced, who beamed with pride and projected arrogance after saying stupid things.

According to former Senator Miriam Santiago, “If we add up all these sources of income, a senator could be making P4 million to P5 million monthly.” So let us not be hard on Senator Pacquiao. The salary of a senator is too small for his needs. He feels he needs a second job and he knows that Bob Arum of Top Rank is a better employer than the Republic of the Philippines.

Our radio and TV networks are contemplating on importing speedier real-time bleep machines to catch up with the curses and expletives of Uncle Digong during his speeches. They should consult the audio engineers of the TV show “The Osbournes.”

All through the years, my relationship with Apple has transformed from adoration, to worship, to almost a cult or fanaticism. Yes, i get crazy, (like my Samsung friends), hoverboarding the twisting turn of annual events every time a new model rolls out, eagerly waiting for those unpacking moments of delight. But who cares? Feeling like a child in an outrageous double-digit age is not a bad thing once in a while. My relationship with my Macbook, Iphone, Ipad and Apple Watch has grown into a full blown love affair. Getting crazier? Maybe. These toys are probably reflective of what Steve Jobs wanted to say during his lifetime. that the “Toys R Us.”

There are about 175 dialects in the Philippines. No truth to the rumor that President Digong is studying the equivalent of “SOB” in other tongues to establisha special connection with his audience wherever he goes.

I suggest Atty. Sal Panelo be reinstated as presidential spokesperson for “out of context” statements and Steve Harvey for statements meant as “jokes.”

A wide variance of opinion is mostly influenced by culture, education, polygenic traits, environs, creed, tradition and experience. That is why the truth hurts when it runs primarily against these conditions. This explains the causality of views being expressed in social media. A group may see the drug problem as an ‘emergency room’ case while others see it better treated under a regular medical procedure. The aggressiveness of treatment may depend on the size of the lump or so they say. And this dizzying world of information adds to the confusion. And our souls gets abused in the end trying to contain them all.

Short tips on camera enthusiasts who are torn between DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.

If you are shooting mostly in good light, both types will perform well. If you are often shooting in low light or other challenging conditions, a DSLR will be easier to shoot with. Image stabilization technology is equal between both camera types. On image quality, both are also even. Shooting video? With superior autofocus in most models, mirrorless cameras provide the best results for most filmmakers. But when it comes to shooting speed, mirrorless wins hands down. Mirrorless cameras have the advantage of usually being lighter, more compact, faster and better for video; but that comes at the cost of access to fewer lenses and accessories. DSLRs have the advantage in lens selection and an optical viewfinder that works better in low light, but they are more complex and bulkier. On battery life, DSLR is the winner.

Just curious. How does the deaf-mute presenter shown as insets on TV programs translate the curses uttered by a speaker. Just asking.
