EXPERIENCE the diverse culture of Turkey right at the heart of the city as guest chefs Harun Imre and Ramazan Edrem from Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul visit Manila to prepare their signature Turkish dishes for Filipino food enthusiasts.
From August 1 to 10, the duo will be at Makati Shangri-La’s Circles Event Café to take their guests on a palatable journey to the border of southeastern Europe and western Asian region. Filipinos will get a chance to discover the colorful spices and exquisite flavors of Turkish cuisine with an array of traditional dishes especially set for lunch and dinner.
Guest chefs Harun Imre and Chef Ramazan Edrem are looking forward to share Turkey’s rich cuisine to the Philippines as they bring over 20 years of experience working in distinguished hotels and establishments. The duo have excelled in preparing Turkish and International cuisine, bringing with them authentic ingredients from Istanbul to create a special buffet spread.
Some of their delicious creations will include Sebzeli Musakka, a thin layers of vegetables topped with kasseri cheese; and the Hünkar be+endi, boneless leg of lamb in an eggplant puree. There will also be an interactive kitchen station featuring Shish Kebbab or chicken with halumi, lamb with pistachio and fish, among many others. Diners can also partake in a selection of the best Turkish desserts such as Baklava, Sumuhalebisi or rose water pudding and Keskul or almond pudding.
The guest chefs will also conduct an exclusive cooking class on August 8, where guest they will share their intricate preparation and cooking skills that will feature Turkish cuisine. The class includes a lunch buffet at Circles Event Café, a certificate and a recipe card.
