DISPLACED residents in battle-ravaged Zamboanga were given free skills training so they can start a livelihood after the crisis. Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) Director General Joel Villanueva said the agency, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), offered livelihood training to residents staying in evacuation centers. Villanueva said at least 200 women from Zamboanga City will benefit from the training program. He said Tesda put up a productivity center at the biggest evacuation center in Baliwasan Grandstand. The evacuees were taught, among other things, how to make novelty items and weave mats.
