The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) announced on Monday that it has energized the Amlan-Siaton 69kV line, which suffered an interruption on Sunday as a result of overgrown vegetation and the refusal by landowners to grant NGCP maintenance personnel access to the affected transmission facility.
A Writ-of-Possession (WOP) was issued by the local court before 10a.m. on Monday, giving NGCP possession of the property, and allowing NGCP linemen to conduct maintenance activities in the affected areas in Barangay Bagacay, Dumaguete City, and to rejuvenate the line.
The line was energized at 11:00 AM, almost 26 hours after it first tripped.
“NGCP is pleased to report that with the expedient response of the local court in issuing the writ of possession, the assistance of the local government, and support from PNP and AFP, delivery of power through NGCP’s Amlan-Siaton line has been restored to the residents of Dumaguete City, Bacong, Dauin, Zamboanguita and Siaton,”NGCP said.
NGCP appeals to the public and local governments all over the country to facilitate NGCP’s access to all transmission facilities so that such extended power interruptions will be avoided.
