Airport authorities on Tuesday said the man who tried to commit suicide at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 3 showed signs of questionable behavior.
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) spokesman David de Castro said that the passenger, 25-year-old Samuel Ambato jumped off the edge of the 3rd floor departure area curbside before hitting the ground at the arrival bus station area.
Ambato was supposed to fly to Davao via AirAsia on Saturday but was offloaded because of his behavior. MIAA added he was seen having fits of laughter before bursting into tears, prompting airline personnel to not include him in the flight later that evening.
Ambato survived the fall with multiple injuries. Due to the fall, he sustained wounds to his head, and also fractured his legs and feet.
Airport medical personnel immediately brought Ambato to the Pasay City General Hospital after the passenger was given first aid. BENJIE L. VERGARA
