DLSZ five sweeps midgets elims

FIVE-TIME defending midget champion De La Salle Zobel won all its five elimination-round games while fellow holders Chiang Kai Shek College and Centro Escolar University also remained unbeaten in the junior and senior division, respectively, in the 47th WNCAA basketball tournament.

DLSZ capped its sweep with a 51-12 thrashing of Poveda last Sunday at St. Scholastica’s College gym. They meet anew this Sunday as No. 1 faces No. 4 in the semifinals. St. Paul College Pasig also prevailed over San Beda College Alabang, 55-45, to wound up No. 2 at 4-1 and arrange a Final Four clash with No. 3 Miriam College.
