DOE monitors maintenance shutdown of power plants


AS more power plants are scheduled to undergo maintenance shutdown within the next two months, the Department of Energy (DOE) is uncertain that Luzon will be brownout-free. Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla said the agency still has to wait for the end of July to say if Luzon has sufficient power supply. The DOE would monitor the planned maintenance shutdown of the power plants in June to July. Meanwhile, some parts of Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija will experience an eight-hour power interruption on Wednesday said the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines due to the scheduled maintenance work of Cabanatuan Electric Corp.
