DOJ indicts accused in Caramoan massacre

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday filed criminal charges against suspects of the Caramoan massacre in Camarines Sur. The DOJ found probable cause to indict Francisco Tria 3rd for the crime of murder. Those earlier charged were Joel Breso and Servellano Espares Jr. The three are suspects in the killing of Julio Labiano, Rene Labiano, Salem Virtus and Jessie Brondia last March 22, 2015. The DOJ found that there was a qualifying circumstance of treachery, based on the testimony of witness Elmer Labiano. It was stated that the victims were not given a chance to defend themselves.
