• DOJ indicts car racer wife, lover

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has indicted the wife of international car racer Enzo Pastor and her lover for allegedly masterminding Enzo’s murder on June 12, 2014.

Dahlia Pastor and her alleged lover Domingo “Sandy” De Guzman have been charged with parricide and murder, respectively, before the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City.

In a 13-page DOJ resolution, Asst. State Prosecutor Susan Villanueva found probable cause to indict Dahlia, Enzo’s wife, for parricide, and De Guzman, for murder.

The resolution was signed and approved by Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Richard Anthony Fadullon and Prosecutor General Claro Arellano.

“[I]t is respectfully recommended that the attached information for violation of Article 246 (Parricide) and Article (248 (Murder) of the Revised Penal Code be filed against respondents Dahlia Guerrero Pastor and Domingo De Guzman III y Villaruel, respectively. The complaint for violation of Article 250 (Frustrated Murder) of the Revised Penal Code is hereby respectfully dismissed, without prejudice, for insufficiency of evidence,” the document reads.

The DOJ has earlier ordered the filing of murder raps against the self confessed gunman PO2 Edgar Angel.

But the DOJ also dismissed the case against him for frustrated murder, for the injuries sustained by Pastor’s assistant, Paolo Salazar, who was with Pastor at the time of the shooting after the authorities failed to attach Salazar’s medical records regarding his injuries. Despite the dismissal, the frustrated murder rap is “without prejudice,” and it can be refiled with the DOJ.

The complaint alleged that De Guzman and Dahlia Pastor were tagged as the masterminds of the killing. It stated that De Guzman and his supposed lover, Dahlia, masterminded Enzo’s killing after the latter found out about their affair.

Based on his extra-judicial confession, Angel claimed he was paid P100,000 to kill Enzo. But later on he recanted but was not given credence by the DOJ.

At the DOJ’s preliminary investigation, Dahlia failed to appear and the Pastor camp said she has gone on hiding after she was implicated in the killing.

The whereabouts of Dahlia is still unknown.
