DoJ orders indictment of Chinese drug lord


THE Department of Justice has ordered the filing of drug charges against a Chinese from whom P100 million worth of shabu was seized by policemen.

Prosecutor General Claro Arellano approved the recommendation to file charges against Yiye Chen, who was arrested on August 5 in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Juan Pedro Navera and Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Miguel Gudio Jr., who conducted the preliminary investigation, found probable cause to indict Chen, allegedly a member of a transnational syndicate.

Chen will be charged at the Regional Trial Court in Angeles City.

No bail was recommended for the Chinese.
