DOLE reminds employerS of double pay policy on Bonifacio Day

Marking the 151st birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio on Sunday, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reminded employers to comply with the double pay policy, citing it as a regular holiday. Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said that proper observance of the pay rules on regular holidays is decent and moral. “I urge private sector employers to voluntarily comply with the holiday pay rules,” she said. Meanwhile, an advisory signed by Baldoz said that for every work done during a regular holiday, workers “shall be paid 200 percent” of their regular salary for that day for the first eight hours alone.
