A dolphin was found dead of what appeared to be bullet wounds by fishermen along the river in Tanza, Cavite on Tuesday. The dolphin was seen alive on Sunday morning swimming back and forth and looking weak. The next morning it was washed ashore, bloated and with 12 wounds in different parts of the body. Dr. Marco Espiritu of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office in Cavite said they found parasites and a diaper that the dolphin had swallowed. Cavite Provincial Police Director Joselito Esquivel Jr., has ordered his men to investigate the cause of the dolphin’s death.
