Tropical depression “Domeng” has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA), but it will continue to bring rains in Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao on Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a strong vertical wind shear or winds from different directions has reduced Domeng’s intensity.
As of 4 a.m. Thursday, the LPA was spotted some 350 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
The LPA will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over Davao and Caraga, Misamis Oriental and Eastern Visayas.
The rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, will continue to be sunny to cloudy with possible afternoon or evening rains.
Metro Manila’s highest temperature on Wednesday was 32.8 degrees Celsius at 2:30 p.m.
The highest temperatures in the country was 34.8 degrees Celsius in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, followed by 34.1 in Subic, 33.5 in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, and 32.5 in Dagupan City.
In Visayas, the temperature in Tagbilaran, Bohol was 32.4 degrees Celsius and 32.0 degrees Celsius in Dipolog and Cebu.
In Mindanao, Zamboanga had 34 degrees Celsius followed by General Santos City with 33 and Davao had 31.
