MANILA: Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Gregory L. Domingo is open to adjust the date of his resignation, he said in a text message on Monday.
“The President (Benigno S. Aquino III) told me that some of the cabinet (secretaries) think that I should stay on until APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation),” said Domingo.
“I told him [the President]we can adjust date,” he added. “I will meet with the President soon to discuss the exact date.
On Saturday, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio B. Coloma Jr. confirmed that Domingo tendered his resignation letter.
Domingo has a critical role in Philippines’ hosting of APEC 2015 Summit.
The APEC 2015 Summit’s concluding events will be on Nov. 13 to 19.
In an interview with Domingo early this month, he confirmed that he will attend APEC meetings on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) next week in Iloilo City.
