Convicted carjack gang leader Raymond Dominguez will be transferred to a “more secured detention cell.”
This is according to Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Ricardo Rainier Cruz 3rd following Dominguez’s alleged involvement in the killing of Bulacan Trial Court Judge Wilfredo Reyes on November 11.
Authorities on Tuesday seized a cellular phone allegedly owned by Dominguez during a raid inside the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City (Metro Manila).
The communication device, Cruz said, will undergo a forensic investigation as contribution to the ongoing investigation on Nieves’ case.
Suspected gunman Arnel Janoras has tagged Dominguez as the alleged mastermind behind the assassination of Nieves, presiding judge of Bulacan RTC Branch 48.
In his statement, Janoras said he received P20,000 from Dominguez to kill Judge Nieves.
Janoras was, however, gunned down by policemen after he allegedly grabbed his escort’s firearm while on their way back from an inquest proceeding on the suspect’s case in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan on Monday.
The incident happened two kilometers away where the judge was ambushed along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Tikay, Malolos City.
Note that it was Judge Nieves who sentenced Dominguez to up to 30 years imprisonment for being one of the leaders of a car theft gang operating in Metro Manila and Central Luzon.
