DOTC extends deadline for Southwest bus terminal bids


The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has moved the deadline for the submission of bids for the P2.5-billion Integrated Transport System (ITS) Project-Southwest Terminal from May 15 to June 16 this year to give potential bidders ample time to prepare a competitive offer.

“In order to give ample time for the bidders to prepare for a competitive tender, the deadline for the submission of bids is hereby moved from May 15, 2014, 2 p.m. to June 16, 2014, 1 p.m.,” the DOTC said in a general bid bulletin.

The government wants three integrated transport terminals built to help provide commuters a seamless transfer between different modes of transport. Including the Southwest Terminal project, the three ITS projects will cost a combined P7.70 billion.

Each project will include passenger terminal buildings, emergency maintenance areas, arrival and departure bays, ticketing facilities, park-ride facilities and transfer facilities.

Eleven potential bidders have expressed interest in the project. These include Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., San Miguel Corp., conglomerate Ayala Corp. and property arm Ayala Land Inc., Robinsons Land Inc., Filinvest Land Inc., Megawide Construction Corp., D.M. Wenceslao and Associates Inc., Vicente T. Lao Construction, Egis Projects Philippines, State Properties Corp., and Expedition Construction Corp.
