The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) yesterday announced it has extended the deadline for the submission of qualification documents for operations and maintenance of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) from December 14, 2014 to January 27, 2015.
The DOTC moved the deadline from the original schedule of November 20 to give the prospective bidders ample time to prepare their qualification documents.
The DOTC said the qualification documents shall be opened immediately after the deadline lapses at the DOTC Conference Room.
Six companies have so far responded to the invitation issued by the DOTC calling for interested bidders for the LRT 2 operations and maintenance project. They are San Miguel Corp., GT Capital Holdings Inc., Marubeni Corp., Light Rail Manila Holdings of Ayala-MPIC, RATP Development, and DMCI.
Last August, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) postponed by a month the bidding for the maintenance contract of LRT Lines 1 and 2 to give the bidders more time to study the bid documents and prepare reasonable bids.
LRT-2 is a 13.8-kilometer mass transit line that traverses five cities in Metro Manila—Pasig, Marikina, Quezon City, San Juan and Manila.
