DoubleDragon Properties Corp. on Wednesday said its first Mindanao-based mall was launched in line with the goal of becoming the largest community mall chain in the Philippines.
The latest CityMall opened in Tetuan, Zamboanga City.
The company said it expects to have 30 operating CityMalls by next year and be on track with the target of operating 100 CityMalls by 2020.
It has secured 37 CityMall sites in different provinces across the country just 17 months after its initial public offering. Several sites are now in various stages of construction.
“Our whole DD Team is very excited that the vision we have set out is already taking a clear shape,” DoubleDragon Chairman Edgar Injap Sia II said.
“We are determined to build a truly great company that will continuously grow exponentially. We expect that very soon. DoubleDragon will become a formidable property company, and our community brand CityMall is expected to dominate the community mall space in the high growth provincial areas of the Philippines, and is expected to become a household brand that every Filipino can be proud of,” he added.
Joining the opening of the CityMall Tetuan-Zamboanga is brand ambassador Anne Curtis-Smith.
Fastfood chains operated by the Jollibee Group were in the latest CityMall branch, including Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Chowking, Greenwich, Red Ribbon Bakeshop and Highlands Coffee.
SM Group brands such as Watsons, BDO, Chinabank Savings, Ace Hardware and SM Appliances were also counted as mall tenants.
