The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its P60-million Quianuang Bridge rehabilitation project along Daang Maharlika in Quezon Province, ahead of its target date of completion on January 11, 2015. Engr. Samson Hebra, OIC for DPWH Region IV-A, said the project includes widening the bridge from two lanes to four lanes and maximizing the road right of way to cope with the increasing traffic volume. He added that the old Quianuang Bridge was replaced with a double barrel, 25 lineal-meters box culvert. “The Department opted for a box culvert, taking into consideration cost-efficiency and urgency to finish the project being located along a busy national highway that serves as the major gateway of motorists going to and from Quezon to Bicol and the Eastern Visayas Region,” Hebra said.
