• DPWH resets bid deadline for CLLEX

THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has again extended by one week the deadline for the submission of pre-qualification documents for the proposed P15-billion Central Luzon link expressway (CLLEX) connecting Tarlac to Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija. DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson said the extension is to rule out any issue that may surface during the procurement stage of the road project. The submission of pre-qualification documents for the first phase of CLLEX scheduled last January 19 was first deferred due to the scheduled visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines and was rescheduled to February 2 and now to February 9. The proposed 66.4-kilometer expressway, which will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), would start at the end of the 94-kilometer Subic Clark Tarlac expressway (SCTEX) up to the 88.85-kilometer Tarlac – Pangasinan – La Union expressway (TPLEX).
