DPWH unveils projects in Vizcaya

BAYOMBONG: The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has unveiled infrastructure projects worth P255 million in Nueva Vizcaya that are expected to be finished this year.

DPWH chief of planning and maintenance section Engineer Danilo Bernabe said the projects include an additional building for the Diadi Emergency Hospital and 13 school buildings with 17 classrooms with P213 million funding from the regular infrastructure projects.

Bernabe said P41.9 million will also be used for outside infrastructure projects such as the construction of 33 farm-to-market roads and post harvest facility projects.

The projects are funded by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Agriculture (DA).

“In the past, farm-to-market roads were short in length because of low budget allocations. Now the allocation has been increased from P.5 million to P2 million for greater impact among farmers,” Bernabe explained.

He said funding for farm-to-market roads will come from either the DA or the DAR while DOH is financing health-related projects.
