Filipino Grandmaster (GM) Wesley So and GM Radoslaw Wojtaszek of Poland settled to a draw in the first round of the 2015 Tata Steel Chess Tournament being held in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands.
So and Wojtaszek agreed to a draw after 70 moves in their opening-round match lasted to six hours.
The 21-year-old So will be facing top seed and reigning world champion GM Magnus Carlsen of Norway in the second round and defending champion GM Levon Aronian of Armenia in the third round.
His other assignments are GM Fabiano Caruana of Italy (fourth round), GM Hou Yifan of China (fifth round), GM Baadur Jobava of Georgia (sixth round), GM Teimour Radjabov of Azerbaijan (seventh round), GM Vasil Ivanchuk of Ukraine (eighth round), GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave of France (ninth round), GM Ding Liren of China (10th round), GM Ivan Saric of Croatia (11th round), 2014 runner-up GM Anish Giri of the Netherlands (12th round) and GM Loek Van Wely of the Netherlands (13th round).
In the other first-round results, Caruana beat Ding (40 moves), Vachier-Lagrave outclassed Hou (54 moves) and Ivanchuk nipped Jobava (43 moves).
Giri and Carlsen, Saric and Aronian, and Radjabov and Loek van Wely also drew their matches.
