• Drilon pitches for OFWs online voting

ILOILO CITY: Senate President Franklin Drilon has urged some 10 to 12 million overseas Filipinos working or residing in other countries to vote in the 2016 presidential and national elections. He said OFWs can do it through the use of the internet to register and vote, without having to leave their jobsites or residences abroad. Drilon asked the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to adopt all the necessary technologies that will enable OFWs to vote, noting that online absentee registration and voting is already practiced in about 20 countries, including the US, France, Germany, Italy and Australia.
