Driver of former lawmaker arrested for drug case


THE former driver and staff of former Rep. Lord Allan Velasco of Marinduque was arrested by the combined forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Marinduque Philippine National Police (PNP) after he was caught in possession of shabu. According to PDEA report, it was stated that the suspect Mark Dexter Anthony Preclaro alias “Macoy,” 46, was arrested in Santa Cruz, Marinduque on December 6. Authorities were able to recover from Preclaro, more than 18 grams of shabu amounting to P120,000, drug paraphernalia, 5.56 rifle, two .22 caliber rifles, four caliber 5.56 magazines and some live and blank ammunitions. It was learned that Preclaro was arrested after he was pointed by his friend, identified as Nicci Buencamino, who was earlier arrested by PDEA in a buy bust operation. Preclaro was slapped with charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, also known as Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition. It was also said that Preclaro is the 12th most wanted drug pushers in Mimaropa and has been the subject of manhunt by the PDEA and Marinduque PNP for a long time now.
