• Drug Center construction in Nueva Ecija starts

Construction of a 10-hectare drug rehabilitation facility inside Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija has started, Col. Benjamin Hao, Philippine Army spokesman, disclosed on Tuesday. Hao said it began on August 28 after the military real estate office approved the zoning of the area near the Battalion Retraining Facility in the 47,000-hectare military camp, home of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division. He added that the Army is planning to organize a separate Military Police battalion that will be in charge of the security in the area because of the enormous size of the facility. Besides Fort Magsaysay, Hao disclosed that other camps that committed to accommodate the construction of rehabilitation centers are Camp Tecson in Bulacan, headquarters of the elite First Scout Ranger Regiment; and Camp Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz.
