A house painter in Baguio City who allegedly doubled as a drug dealer was found dead on Monday while another suspect in Laguna died in a clash with the police on Thursday.

Listed as a drug suspect, Reynold Tagudar Fernandez, 47, was gunned down by two unidentified assassins riding a motorcycle along Manuel Roxas road, Lower Brookside, in Baguio in what police said to be another drug-related killing.

Fernandez died from a lone gunshot wound in the body.

His death brings to 12 the number of drug pushers killed in the Cordillera Region since July 1.

Meanwhile, another drug pusher was killed after he engaged authorities in a gunfight in Paete, Laguna, on Thursday morning.

The Laguna police provincial director, Senior Supt, Joel Pernito, said a police intelligence unit conducted a buy-bust in Barangay 6, Ilaya Norte in Paete against Jonathan Arela Valdecantos that resulted in the firefight after the suspect shot the poseur buyer but missed.

Pernito sai the suspect has been placed under surveillance for illegal drug trade until the operation was conducted.
