BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: Former election commissioner-turned-mayor Ralph Lantion has offered a four-hectare area in the municipality for the construction of a Drug Rehabilitation Center (DRC) to accommodate drug surrenderers for their rehabilitation and transformation.
“My family is offering our four-hectare lot at Barangay Magsaysay as a site for one of the four DRCs to be constructed by the national government to house and provide the needs of drug surrenderers in the country,” Lantion said.
He added that all members of the family have agreed to donate it to the government as one of the sites for the proposed four DRCs to be constructed in the country.
“In addition to the help extended to those who needed to be transformed and rehabilitated while providing a sanctuary to drug surrenderers, the center will also bring in employment,” Lantion said.
He noted that the DRC will be in need of doctors, nurses, psychiatrists and those in the medical profession as well as custodians who will be accountable for the surrenderers’ welfare.
Lantion said a comprehensive package of services ranging from health, education, skills training, livelihood and employment opportunities for drug surrenderers will also be offered at the center.
The lot has already been offered to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) through its undersecretary for operations, lawyer John Castriciones, who was recently in the province.
