• Dry spell destroy P92-M crops in Isabela

ILAGAN CITY, Isabela: About P92 million-worth of corn and rice plants was destroyed as a result of the long dry spell, said Provincial Agriculture Office head Danilo Tumamao. The corn and rice production areas in the four districts of Isabela have “no chance of recovery.” So far, the dry spell has already affected about 20,777 hectares of croplands and has deprived some 14,183 farmers of their expected harvest. The farmers are advised to adopt new technologies and to plant drought-resistant crops.
