• DSWD to build more shelters for Yolanda survivors


    THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is teaming up with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for the construction of 3,200 shelters for Yolanda survivors in Eastern Visayas. The deal to be signed between DSWD Secretary Corazon Juliano-Soliman and IOM Philippines Chief of Mission and Director of Manila Administrative Center Marco Boasso, the DSWD will fund the construction of 2,700 units worth P189 million while IOM will provide P35 million for the remaining 500 units. The transitional shelters will be constructed in Leyte, Western Samar and Eastern Samar.
