DSWD gives P6M to projects


BAGUIO CITY: The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Bottom-Up Budgeting has provided funds worth P6,038,000.00 in 2014 for 20 projects in Mountain Province.

In her report during the Provincial Advisory Committee meeting last month, Kezel Joy Pulquiso of the Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Team office, four municipalities namely Bontoc, Sadanga, Sagada and Tadian have benefited from the projects last year.

Of the total amount, P3,270,000.00 was allotted to the municipality of Sadanga for seven projects including construction of day care center, sanitary toilets, indigenous product development and business enterprise, opening of Fagwang-Nabenngan road in Poblacion; ongoing construction of Poyo-Churao footbridge in Saclit and provision of educational materials to support supervise neigh-borhood program for children in all barangays.

In Bontoc, three projects worth P850,000.00 are focused on day care workers support in all barangays, and supplemental feeding for day care and kindergarten pupils.
