THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Wednesday responded to the request of Albay Gov. Joey Salceda for augmentation assistance that includes 8,964 bags of rice to feed some 10,546 families that may be affected by the Mayon Volcano eruption.

Due to the continuous restiveness of the volcano, which has an alert level 3 status, some 4,742 families or 21,092 individuals from the municipalities of Camalig, Daraga, Guinobatan, Malilipot, Ligao and Tabaco City are now staying at 18 evacuation centers as of 4 a.m.
