BACOOR CITY, Cavite: The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Go Negosyo, in partnership with the City of Bacoor launched the 2nd batch of “Kapatid Mentor Me program,” on Wednesday. It was the program’s 65th launch in the country and the second in Cavite. DTI-Cavite director Noly Guevara said the selection process of mentees is centralized and only existing businesses are eligible for mentorship. The program can go from three to six months, depending on the mentor’s schedule of classes, and the beneficiaries are constantly monitored. Of the 24 mentees in Cavite, five are from Bacoor. The DTI is making the regional areas its priority to develop the business mindset of local entrepreneurs, as well as decrease the unemployment rate of 6.1 percent to about 5.7 percent, through self-employment.
