The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will conduct nine free entrepreneurship seminars this month beginning today as part of their drive to encourage more business start-ups.
“We invite individuals who want to start their own businesses or those in the early stages of their business start-ups to take advantage of these sessions and gain useful insights and guidance from experts,” said Bureau of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BMSMED) Officer-in-Charge Jerry Clavesillas in a statement.
The lectures will be conducted by DTI through the BMSMED, DTI-National Capital Region (NCR), Center for Industrial Competitiveness (CIC), in cooperation with KIKS Innovative Training and Consulting Solutions, Trendstatic Corporation, Ultima Entrepinoy and consultant and entrepreneur Mr. Butch Salvador.
“For September, we have lined up nine sessions, which will basically enlighten the participants on the nitty-gritty of starting and managing a business,” Clavesillas said in the statement.
The sessions will cover the following topics: how to start a business and Integrated Business Licensing, September 3; how to market products, September 6; how to prepare a business plan, September 6; how to prepare a business plan, September 10; managing a family business and its challenges, September 13; how to achieve and repeat sales, September 17; choosing a computerized accounting system for businesses, September 20; improving quality and productivity in your workplace, September 24; and basic meat processing for business, September 27.
“Through these trainings, we hope to create new small businesses that will be significant contributors to the country’s growing economy,” Clavesillas said.
The sessions will be held at the BMSMED Training Room at the fifth floor of the Trade and Industry in Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue in Makati City from 1:30 to 4:00 in the afternoon.
