THE Department of Trade and Industry-Regional Operations Group (DTI-ROG) has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with BPI Family Savings Bank on technical and financial assistance to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) clients of Negosyo Centers.
“This is a most welcome partnership as we really push entrepreneurship because not only we are opening doors for would-be entrepreneurs, but we want them to work with our Negosyo Centers,” DTI Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya said in a statement.
Under the agreement, DTI and BPI Family will hold financial wellness seminars for MSMEs as well as access to financial services, particularly for business expansion.
Ma. Cristina Go, senior vice president of BPI Family Savings Bank, noted the agreement will encourage more aspiring Filipino entrepreneurs to venture into business.
“It’s our belief that awareness, education on how to put up a business will give more Filipinos the confidence to go for entrepreneurial ventures,” Go said, noting that the banks has officially became the government’s partner through the Negosyo Centers.
