THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), represented by Undersecretary Zenaida Cuizon-Maglaya of the Regional Operations Group (ROG), signed a memorandum of agreement with SM Mart Inc. represented by its Executive Vice President Ricky Lim, to offer Business Name Registration in DTI Business Service Centers in SM Malls nationwide. The signing was witnessed by DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo and Dennis Yaw, SAVP of SM Mart Inc. Business Name registration will be made available in Business Service Centers or Consumer Welfare Desks (CWD) initially in 25 SM Malls in Metro Manila (Aura, BF Homes Parañaque, Bicutan, Cubao, Fairview, Harrison, San Lazaro, Makati, Mall of Asia, Manila, Marikina, Megamall, North EDSA, Novaliches, Southmall, Santa Mesa, Sucat, and Quiapo) as well as in Region 3 (Marilao, Bulacan) and Region 4A (Bacoor, Cavite; Calamba, Laguna; Dasmarinas, Cavite; Masinag, Antipolo; Santa Rosa, Laguna; and Taytay, Rizal). This facility was opened on April 1. Partnering with SM makes it more accessible and convenient for applicants to register their business names. The e-business name registration was offered to the public in 2008, allowing online registration through the web and payment via G-Cash. During that time, SM also offered its space, manpower and G-Cash facility to deliver the business name registration service to the public.
