Multi-titled tanker Marc Bryan Dula of Weisenheimer Academy will be the newest brand ambassador of Finis Philippines following his sterling performance in international competitions recently.
Dula, an incoming Grade 4 student, got the nod of Finis Philippines after collecting gold medals and smashing records in Australia and Japan.
He delivered five gold medals including two new marks in the 2016 Indian Ocean All-Star Challenge held at the Challenge Stadium in Perth, Australia in March.
The nine-year-old Dula broke records in the 200m freestyle (2:55.69) and 200m Individual Medley (3:10.84) events then copped mints in the 50m butterfly (35.70), 100m butterfly (1:28.41) and 200m medley relay.
Besides five golds, he also chalked up two silvers – 100m backstroke and 4x50m freestyle relay – good enough to cpature the Most Outstanding Swimmer award in the boys’ 9-year category.
In February, Dula swept all his four events highlighted by record-breaking feat in 50m butterfly (38.08) and 50m backstroke (39.45) in the 2016 Tokyo Winter Swimming Championship held at the St. Mary’s International School swimming pool in Japan.
His other gold medals came from the 25m butterfly (17.83) and 25m backstroke (19.41) events and eventually won the Most Outstanding Swimmer trophy in his age band.
Dula will be the fourth Finis Philippines brand ambassador from the Philippine Swimming League, joining the elite list ambassadors that also include Sean Terence Zamora, Kyla Soguilon and Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh.
“We’re thankful to Finis Philippines especially Mr. Vince Garcia for supporting our swimmers. Marc Bryan Dula will be the fourth brand ambassador from PSL. We’re hoping that these will serve as good example to other swimmers,” said PSL President Susan Papa.
Veteran coaches Alex Papa and Marlon Dula of Susan Papa Swim Academy are supervising the training of the promising tanker.
Up next for Dula in the 2016 Stingray Invitational Swimming Championship scheduled next month in Hong Kong where he will be seeing action against teams from China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Great Britain and host Hong Kong.
Dula received a Vapor Tech Suit – the finest technical suit in the company’s history made with premium Italian fabric and hydrophobic design considered as a major breakthrough in the Finis line of performance swimwear – and other Finis stuff as part of ambassadorship.
