Dumaguete airport expansion stalled

The Dumaguete airport might be forced to downgrade smaller aircraft operations after a private lot owner refused to cut down tall trees located along the path angle on the final approach of the airport’s runway. Pilots said the trees posed as hazards and safety concerns because these “almost and occasionally touch landing gears of descending aircrafts.” The airport authorities failed to convince the owner, a certain Alexander Amor Jr. from giving away. But the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines still hopes the matter will be settled amicably soon with the help of local municipal officials and the Negros Oriental Tourism Council.
