PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte plans to fire 90 police officers over allegations of corruption, saying this was a continuation of his government’s purge of the ranks of law enforcers.

Addressing guests during the birthday party of Sen. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao in General Santos City on Sunday night, Duterte said he would not tolerate “gangsters” at the Philippine National Police (PNP), which he earlier described as “corrupt to the core.”
