PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law a bill extending the validity of a driver’s license to five years.
Republic Act 10930, which was signed by Duterte on August 2, extends the validity period of drivers’ licenses and penalizes acts in violation of its issuance and application.
The new law revises Section 23 of RA 4136, as amended by Batas Pambansa Blg. 398 and Executive Order 1011 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
“It shall be the policy of the State to establish a system that promotes the ease of access to government services and efficient transportation regulation favorable to the people,” the new law read. CATHERINE S. VALENTE
